Dandithirta ( Dhanditheerta ) is a place in Udupi district of Karnataka state in India. It is on National Highway (NH-17) 12 kilometres from Udupi towards Mangalore near Kaup (Kapu).There is a lake where Swamiji ( Pontiff or seer or Monk ) of Ashta Matha have take a dip before taking over reins of puja and administration of Sri Krishna Matha, Udupi. They take a dip and enter Udupi town where they are taken in Paryaya procession from jodukatte to carstreet. The ascending of Sarvajna peeta inside the KrishnaMatha marks beginning of Paryaya.
