A wide variety of dance occurs in Canada.
Classical ballet companies include the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the National Ballet of Canada, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, and the Alberta Ballet. There are other ballet and modern dance companies in most major cities.
Many immigrant communities continue their own dance traditions on a professional or amateur basis.
Native Canadian dancing takes place at pow wows.
