Daniel J. "Dan" Rasmussen is the Iowa State Representative from the 23rd District. He has served in the Iowa House of Representatives since 2002. He received his BS from Iowa State University. He is the Executive Director for the Iowa Chapter of Land Improvement Contractors of America (ILICA).
Rasmussen currently serves on several committees in the Iowa House - the Local Government committee; the Natural Resources committee; and the Transportation committee. He also serves on the Agriculture and Natural Resources Appropriations Subcommittee. His prior political experience includes serving on the Independence School Board.
Rasmussen was narrowly re-elected in 2006 with 5,716 votes, defeating Democratic opponent Pete McRoberts.
