Dan Dunn studied painting at Sam Houston State University.

Worked 9 seasons at Six Flags Astroworld theme park in Houston beginning in 1977.Served as the artist trainer there in his last few years. As a caricaturist and member to the National Caricaturist Network(NCN). He has won several national awards, Caricaturist of the Year Competition, Bronze and Silver “Noseys”, Most Humorous Cartoons, as well as several other awards.[citation needed] He served as President and Vice President, and competition chairman to the NCN in past years and is thought of as one of the founding members of the NCN.[citation needed]

He is currently spending most of his time working on his Paint Jam stage show.
