Dan Donegan, (born on August 1, 1968 in Oak Lawn, Illinois) is an American musician, and guitarist for rock band Disturbed.

[edit] History

Donegan began playing guitar as a teenager and eventually formed a band called Vandal, which was an 80's style hair band. Also during his teen years, Dan had long hair. According to Disturbed DVD title M.O.L, Dan got a job with his father doing construction work. He was required to cut his hair for it, but instead opted to wear a wig in order to fool his dad and keep his long hair. It worked, and his dad eventually let him keep his long hair.

GUITARS:
Donegan played Gibson Les Pauls for a while, recording Disturbed's 2000 album "The Sickness" with them. Donegan later switched over to Paul Reed Smith Guitars. Sometime around the start of the era of Disturbed's latest album "Ten Thousand Fists", Washburn Guitars launched Dan's very own signature series called the Maya Signature Series, named after Dan's daughter Maya.

Distinctively styled, Dan's personal custom Maya guitar is modeled after Dan's own Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Features include:

-Tone Pros TOM fixed bridge with trough-body stringing
-Seymour Duncan El Diablo bridge pickup
-Seymour Duncan '59 neck pickup
-Sperzel locking tuners
-The Buzz Feiten Tuning System

To date, Donegan uses his Maya guitars equipped with GHS 10-46 gauge strings in various tunings (most prominently dropped C# tuning).

AMPLIFIERS :
Donegan uses Randall amplifiers for indoor gigs, and MESA Engineering Triple Rectifier amps for outdoor gigs. According to Dan, he uses both brands to "keep the sponsors happy," as he told a fan on his Myspace Page.
