Dan Centinello

Dan Centinello serves as a Deputy Field Director for California Victory 2006, a program that serves as the major leg of Arnold Schwarzenegger' re-election campaign for Governor.

He previously served as Chairman of the New York College Republican State Committee from May 2004 until his term ended in April 2005.

During his tenure Centinello was known as a thorn in the side of then-College Republican National Committee (CRNC) Chairman Eric Hoplin. Hoplin's term as chair was marred by a scandal over the deceptive fundraising tactics of Response Dynamics, Inc. (RDI), the College Republican National Committee's direct mail firm. RDI used multiple solicitations under different letterheads to mislead donors into thinking they were donating to the Republican National Committee or the campaign fund of President George W. Bush. The victims of this deception were largely senior citizens.

Centinello worked with former North Carolina Federation of College Republicans Chairman Michael Pomarico to organize support for a resolution terminating the College Republican National Committee's relationship with Response Dynamics in November 2004. Hoplin has since tried to take credit for that action, despite knowing about Response Dynamic's tactics since at least 2001, when Hoplin was CRNC Executive Director, and doing nothing.

Centinello was later a vocal supporter of Michael P. Davidson, the former California College Republicans chairman who opposed Hoplin's handpicked successor, Paul Gourley, for CRNC chairman.

Centinello quickly excelled in the California campaign realm, first working for the Republican Party of County then he worked as the Campaign Manager on the ground for Kevin Faulconer for San Diego city Council, who finished first in the November 8, 2005 special election and first again in the January 10, 2006 run-off. Centinello then went to manage State Assembly candidate, Kevin Jeffries' race for State Assembly where he finished with 48.3%, 28.5 points more than his opponent. He then went on to become the San Diego Field Director for California Grassroots Mobilization, a special project working on behalf of the California Republican Party and Arnold Schwarzenegger's Re-election bid, before going to work for Victory '06.
