Daniel "Dan" Boyle (born July 12, 1976 in Ottawa, Ontario) is a professional hockey defenceman who currently plays for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League.
He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Florida Panthers in 1998. He won the Stanley Cup with the Lightning in 2004, after being traded from the Panthers during the 2001-02 NHL season. He played college hockey for the Redhawks of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. [[1]]
During game one of the 2004 Stanley Cup Finals, an electrical fire caused an estimated $300,000 worth of damage to Boyle's home in Florida.[1]
Boyle recorded three goals and an assist against the New York Rangers on December 23, 2006, his first career hat trick.
