Dan Boeckner
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dan Boeckner is a Canadian singer, songwriter and guitarist for the indie rock bands Wolf Parade and Handsome Furs.
Boeckner grew up in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, where he was involved in several small bands. In 2000 he recorded Rapture, Ye Minions! with his notable British Columbian band Atlas Strategic. The album was released on a local label, Global Symphonic. The band toured and recorded a second album, which was never officially released. After the band broke up Boeckner moved to Montreal, Canada.
In 2003 musician Spencer Krug asked Boeckner to play with him for a show opening for The Arcade Fire. They formed the Canadian band Wolf Parade, which has released three EPs and one full length album on Sub Pop. Boeckner currently has a side-project called Handsome Furs, and their debut album, Plague Park, is due on May 22 on Sub Pop.
