Talk:Daman and Diu
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
How far is Diu from Bombay and what are the means to travel?
- Pretty far. The only way is by rail/road. There's no sea travel. Air links to the nearest place is I think Rajkot? User:Nichalp/sg July 3, 2005 18:17 (UTC)

[edit] NPOV?
- Goa, Daman, and Diu were liberated by the Republic of India on December 19, 1961
Is this NPOV? One might as well say that they were "invaded" by the Republic of India on December 19, 1961... FilipeS 20:29, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
The colonial Portugese came thousands of miles to occupy Daman and Diu and other territory of India. Indians (People of Daman and Diu and other part of the great Indian nation) liberated it from the Portugese colonial rule after a long freedom struggle.
The military option was the last one since Portugese was holding on to Indian territory using military means and the Portugese has no right to claim Indian land. Even the Portugese government has later admitted it.
