The Damu Ridas (actual name was the Bloods) was the group name of an assortment of LA Denver Lane Bloods & Crenshaw Mafia gang members from the South Central Los Angeles and Inglewood area which recorded the Bloods/Crips collaboration album, Banging on Wax. When the Banging on Wax sagas were made, there were several gangs from other locations in LA County, Compton, Watts, Inglewood and South Central. The only gangs who didnt went on under the name Damu Ridas were: Bounty Hunters and the Madd Swan Bloods.

The two gangs who originally made up the Damu Ridas were: Denver Lane Bloods and Crenshaw Mafia Bloods. They are known to have been allies and family in the streets for a long time, known as the Mafia Denvers or Mafia Lanes.
Gangs and gang-members included: Denver Lane Bloods: Lil Laniak.2, B-Brazy, Peanut.2, G-Len and June Dawg. Crenshaw Mafia Bloods: Big Wy, Lil Hawk, G-Spider, Tip-Toe, Big Mad-Eyez and Mz. China . Inglewood Family Gang: Green Eyez . WeirDoz Gangsta Bloods: Dogg AKA Suga Buga . Avenue Piru : Red-Rum, Lil Leak . Family Swan Bloods: Dock-B, Batman .
Most of the Damu Ridas are now in jail or dead.
B-Brazy was from 109th Street & Figueroa Avenue, Denver Lane Blood Hood, he was shot and killed by an Los Angeles Mexican gang (probably the SoLos Inglewood 13); he was set up by an Latina female member of that gang and was shot and left for dead on may, 9th, in a Inglewood hotel room on the 800 Block of W. Manchester Blvd.
Lil Laniak.2 also was from 109th Street & Figueroa Avenue, Denver Lane Blood Hood, one day he was walkin with his kid, and was shot and killed by an other Blood gang from Compton (also known as Bompton in Blood-Talk), Campanella Park Bompton Pirus. + After this, there was a small line drawn between Bloods and Pirus.
Peanut.2 was from 106th Street & Figueroa Avenue, He was killed by an unknown gang.
Lil' Hawk is from 104th Street & Century Blvd in Inglewood. He was from a Blood gang called "Crenshaw Mafia" and was another popular rapper in the Damu Ridas group right now to this day his in prison servin 25 to Life. Word on the streets is dat he was snitched on by older gang-members for shootin at the police.
G-Spider was also from 104th Street & Century Blvd in Inglewood, he also claimed "Crenshaw Mafia" also; G Spider was killed by a Mexican gang called "Figro 18th Street." from Figueroa Avenue, In South Central LA.
Tip-Toe AKA Pimp-Dee, was another respected member of 104th Street & Century Blvd, Crenshaw Mafia Bloods. He Was killed by another Blood gang from Inglewood, the Neighbor-Hood Pirus, and with this killin, the wedge between Bloods and Pirus became bigger. Till this day, the CMG and the NHP dont get along.
Members still alive and on the street include. Big Wy, Suga Buga, G-Len, June Dawg, Green Eyez, Red-Rum and Lil Leak, some of them still makin 'Ganksta Muzik'.

Damu means Blood in Swahili. The difference between Damu's and Ru's can be seen by colors. Bloods wear bright red, and most of the Pirus sport burgundy red.
