Damon Baird is a fictional character in the popular Xbox 360 game Gears of War. He is introduced to the story after Delta squad is send to rescue Alpha squad and deploy a piece of equipment they were carrying. Unlike the other main characters featured in the game, Baird is characterised by his extensive knowledge of the Locust forces and adept handeling of machinery rather than martial prowess. He often responds to any comments made by other characters in a sarcastic and jaded tone, yet despite this he remains loyal to the other members of his squad and always carries out orders to the best of his ability. It is hinted that he and Augustus Cole have known each other for a substantial period of time, this is most likley the case as they were in a squad together prior to their merge with Delta squad.

Damon bears a striking resemblence to Penny Arcade's minor character Charles.
