Damien Geoffrey Wright (born 25th of July 1975) in Casino, New South Wales is an Australian cricket player, who plays for the Tasmanian Tigers and Northamptonshire County Cricket Club. In 2002 he played in the Scottish cricket team as their one permitted overseas player. He plays club cricket for Clarence District Cricket Club.
His batting style is right-hand bat and his bowling style is right-arm fast medium. His has a side-on stance and ability to bounce the ball sharply.
Damien Wright moved to Tasmania from New South Wales in 1997-98 to increase his chances of First class cricket. He quickly established himself as a mainstay of the Tasmanian bowling attack. Damien Wright's excellent season in 2004-05 drew the attention of English county sides and he moved to Northamptonshire for the following English summer, however a stress fracture to his back cut his overseas experience short, and has limited his availability for Tasmania as well.
Damien Wright is third on the all-time Tasmanian wicket taking list behind Colin Miller and Shaun Young.
