Career Highlights

Damien "Chipper" Adkins (born March 9, 1981) is an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League.

A quick midfielder, Adkins was drafted as a 4th round selection in the 1998 National Draft by Collingwood. His major asset was his pace, but he also had good footballer skills. He spent his first season in the reserves, but when he made his debut in 2000 he had an instant impact, and showed signs of a top player. He had 22 disposals and kicked a goal with his first kick in AFL football, finishing with 2 goals for the match. He played 18 games in his first season, but hampered by groin injuries and struggling with form, he only managed 4 games in the remaining 2 seasons. Adkins was then traded to the West Coast Eagles in 2002 for Andrew Williams.

Adkins became a bench player, considering a great midfield combination by the Eagles, playing only 8 games in 2003, but the next season was his best playing 17 games including a final. But in 2005 he struggled once again for a regular spot and played only 7 games. He was an emergency for the Grand Final.

In late April he fractured a leg whilst playing in the WAFL for Perth Demons and missed the remainder of the 2006 season.

In November 2006 he was delisted by the West Coast Eagles, and is now set to line up for Frankston in the VFL in 2007.
