[edit] Dame of the Necromongers
Dame Vaako is first introduced in the film as part of the Necromonger race walking to the side of her husband, Lord Vaako, wearing her famous golden snake scale dress to go with her dominant female attitude. Either with her people or with those outside, she comes off as the ultimate femme fatale.
[edit] The Necromonger People
The Necros are legions of nomadic religious extremists and warriors spanning across the galaxy in search of their after-life paradise called Underverse. The Necromongers are lead by the Lord Marshall who has discovered and returned from the Underverse with supernatural powers which announce him as a 'Holy half-dead'. Like the rest of his people, Lord and Dame Vaako's ability to reproduce has been surgically removed preventing conception during mating. As a result, the Necromongers attack worlds to convert the inhabitants to their race and religion and destroying the planet afterward. The Necros reside within the ships conquering planet after planet in their search for the Underverse.
[edit] Lord Vaako
Dame Vaako's husband Lord Vaako, is a honourable and ambitious Necromonger warrior. He prides himself on being one of the best of the Necros and even sees himself with equal (if not more) strength than the Lord Marshall. However, he is barely tolerant of his wife's desire for power and her wish to put him on the throne.
[edit] War on Riddick
When the Lord Marshall brought his armies to destroy planet Hellion Prime, Lord and Dame Vaako encountered an escaped killer named Richard B. Riddick who defeated one of the Lord Marshall's best warriors. Ordering that Riddick be taken back to their ship to be converted Vaako's wife lured Riddick to their Mind-readers who sensed that Riddick was from the one warrior race superior to the Necros; the Furyans.
After escaping from them, Lord Vaako is ordered to take a platoon to hunt him down. Before he prepared to go, his wife spoke softly of how much a superior warrior Vaako is compared to the Lord Marshall, reminding Vaako of how his skills and loyality among them had gone unappreciated. He refused to listen, being too honourable to consider her claims to treachery.
[edit] Threat To The Lord Marshall
When they discovered, the Elemental named Aereon being brought before the Lord Marshall, she later interrogated her about Riddick and discovered that before the Lord Marshall became leader, an oracle foresaw that he would be killed at the hands of a Furyan. As a result, the Lord Marshall slaughtered all Furyans, but never realizing that some had escaped.
Vaako tracked Riddick to the planet Crematoria. where he knocked him out with an energy shot from his gun to a guard in front of Riddick. Vaako leaves him to die as the a 700 degree sun begins to rise while he returns home. Unexpectedly, the Necromonger Purifier stayed behind and rescued Riddick as he was once a Furyan before he converted.
Riddick returns to Hellion Prime disguised in Necromonger armor. However, Dame Vaako recognizes him and though she panics at first, she uses this to convince Vaako of how weak the Lord Marshall is for fearing a single man and claims that if Riddick can do some damage to the Necros king, than Vaako should kill the Lord Marshall and take his place as ruler.
[edit] Final Showdown
Riddick appears before the Lord Marshall and the two battle furiously, with the Lord Marshall holding the upper hand with his half-dead powers. However, Riddick manages to wound his adversary promonting Dame Vaako to order her husband to deal the final blow. Vaako steps forward with a war-axe, lifts if above his head, whisperers "Forgive me" and strikes down.
Yet, the Lord Marshall's half-dead powers lets his spirit pull his body away, except he pulls in front of Riddick who uses a dagger to stab the Lord Marshall in the head. When Dame Vaako sees this, she shrieks in despair. Afterward, Vaako and the Necromongers approach Riddick and bow before him with Vaako quoting the Necros law "You keep what you kill", making Riddick, an escaped killer, lord of the Necromongers.
