"Damage, Inc." is the eighth and final song from Metallica's 1986 album Master of Puppets.
Like the song "Orion" preceding it, "Damage, Inc." starts off with a whirling, hypnotic bass intro by Cliff Burton, that includes more of his signature volume swells and harmonies, following the volume increases, and proceeds in usual thrash style. This is one of the fastest songs on the album.
The lyrical matter deals with the conformity and trends in music, and how the band remained true to their complex thrash arrangements and in depth song matter. Interestingly, the lines "Fuck it all and fucking no regrets; Never happy endings on these dark sets," are nearly re-used in exact form on the song "St. Anger".
The original demo of "Disposable Heroes" features a second guitar solo that was eventually used as the main solo for this song[1].
