Talk:Dallas, Moray

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Actually, George Mifflin Dallas was not a founder of Dallas, Texas, and was never anywhere near Texas ( see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Mifflin_Dallas). John Neeley Bryan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Neely_Bryan) is generally regarded as the founder of Dallas, Texas. Who or what Dallas, TX was named after is still a matter of debate, but one theory is that it was named in honor of G.M. Dallas. If true, it is supposed that this was a political maneuver by the town's boosters rather than the result of any personal connection or involvement on the part of G.M. Dallas.
