[edit] Fair use rationale for Dalek

This image, Dalekattack.jpg, is being linked here; though the picture is copyright © to the BBC, I (Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 01:26, 21 January 2007 (UTC)) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use law because:

  1. The image is a low-resolution screenshot;
  2. The image is being used for informational purposes about the organic component of the Daleks, well-known monsters from the television programme Doctor Who;
  3. No more free alternative exists;
  4. The use of the image in these articles will have no effect on the BBC's commercial use of the image in question.

[edit] Licensing

Copyrighted

This image is a screenshot of a copyrighted television program or station ID. As such, the copyright for it is most likely owned by the company or corporation that produced it. It is believed that the use of a limited number of web-resolution screenshots

qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, might be copyright infringement. For more information, see Wikipedia:Fair use.

To the uploader: please add a detailed fair use rationale for each use, as described on Wikipedia:Image description page, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.
