Dallas Taylor

Dallas Taliaferro Taylor (born August 30) is the former vocalist and founder of what is now a Christian post-hardcore band Underoath. He performed on three Underoath albums: Act of Depression, Cries of the Past, and The Changing of Times. In 2003, Dallas was then "asked to leave Undeorath". Dallas Taylor was replaced by the current Underoath vocalist, Spencer Chamberlain

In mid/late 2004, after going through a down period, Dallas reemerged with a new band, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. They released a self-titled album on Oct 25th, 2005 signed with Mono vs. Stereo Records. After the release, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster signed to Ferret Records.

Dallas has been quoted as saying, "I am so fed up with people acting like cowards, and so tired of the many things I've lived for in the past. I feel like it's time to get back to where I was when I was young. This band is proud of who we are as people, what we believe, and where we come from. I feel like so much of music today, especially those who come from a Christian background, spend so much time hiding who they really are, or being ashamed of their beliefs, trying to be 'scene' or to sell records. I want every kid to know I am not going to change who I really am to sell records. I mean, I absolutely hate shoving things down people's throats, but hiding who you are is just as bad."[citation needed]

He has a wife named Allison. They have a son, Corgan Taliaferro Taylor, who was born January 29, 2006. Dallas also has a brother named Nash Fleet.

When not touring with his current band, he sometimes works as a window washer and delivers flowers on the side. He also sometimes works at Frogs Ink House Tattoos. He resides in Birmingham, Alabama.

In February 2006, Dallas formed a new band with Phil Reardon, the former vocalist of From First to Last. The band is called The New Tragic. He has been forced to halt his involvement with the band and it is rumored that he has left because of his busy schedule touring and recording with Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. However, it is possible that he will one day continue working with The New Tragic. As of October 2006, it was still unknown what Taylor would do concerning the project, but after experiencing some troubles with The New Tragic, Dallas left.

Dallas is also in a two person band with long time friend Patrick Copeland called Everett. Everett has finished recording their upcoming 4 song EP which will be released on iTunes before March.
