The center was named for Dr. Robert Dale Jackson, Lewisville's first doctor. Dr. Jackson began as a pediatrition in Lewisville in the 1960's. As his patients aged, he later opened his office to serve as a family practice, serving his original patients, their children and later their grandchildren. Dr. Jackson was a widely loved man who served his local community for more than 40 years until his death in April of 2001. Amoung other things, he was the local high school's team doctor, served as the school board's president for several years, and a friend to all who knew him. Dr. Jackson was passionate about his practice, working until the day he died. The Dale Jackson Career Center remains in his absence to remind all of the man who inspired a town, community and his family.
