Dale A. Kunkel

Dale A. Kunkel is Director of Absolute Return and Hedge Fund Strategies for the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. This $5 billion foundation was created by Gordon Moore, co-founder of Intel Corporation, and concentrates on providing funding in areas such as science and environmental conservation. Kunkel is responsible for the operation of the foundation's hedge fund investment activities.

Before joining the Moore Foundation, Kunkel was the Director of Investments at the University of Pennsylvania where he worked on all aspects of endowment management. He was formerly with Capital Market Risk Advisors where he managed hedge fund risk exposure. He has also worked for the Rockefeller Foundation and the Laughlin Group.

Kunkel earned his M.B.A. from Yale School of Management and his B.S. in Finance with High Honours from Portland State University. Mr. Kunkel is an AIMR member and also holds the CFA designation.
