[edit] Psy guy's RfA

Thanks for supporting my RfA. It recently closed with final tally of 51/1/2. I sincerely appreciate it and I hope I can live up to your expectations. I will try my best to be a good administrator. If you ever need anything, just let me know. Thanks! -- Psy guy (talk) 05:49, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Advice, as requested

Re: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The figurative coconut "messed up again I give up. please send me some advice"

Take a nap and drink a big glass of water. If that doesn't work, eat a cookie. Tom Harrison (talk) 23:11, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

Since you had indicated that you have a interest in finding gold and/or prospecting, see the article Gold Prospectors Association of America, then click on to the external link.

If you do go prospecting, you'll have to be prepared for the terrain, its flora and fauna. Desert flora is usually cacti, and some of this cacti have spines/thorns that can go through almost any kind of shoes and/or boots, then through your feet, causing festering infections, so you'll have to watch your step. Desert fauna that can kill you are snakes, the gila monster and the Black Widow spider and the Brown Recluse spider. In AZ. there is a snake called the 2 step. When this thing bites you, you take 2 steps, trying to get away from it, then you die. It a green colored snake. Maybe someone brought a few back from 'Nam long ago. One of the AZ. citizens told me about this snake. Harmful fauna incl. certain insects, scorpions and some species are also deadly.

"Self Powered" radios and lights are also a good idea. Find both on The C Crane homepage[1]. Radio Shack also sells some of this equipment, due to prepreations urged by the Dept. of Homeland Security to prepare for natural disasters, like the recent hurricanes, civil problems, terrorist attacks, like 9 - 11.

Good lights to have are the Luxeon LED light, the Sears Craftsman LED lights. You'll need at least 5 or 8 of these lights, in case you walk into a old mine, cave. Here, watch out for toxic gases, weakened construction, cave ins, thinned ground, due to past mining, or you may end up badly injured, even dead. A good CB and a GOOD cell phone IS a must, but only for emergencies, to conserve batteries. Other people, prospectors will also advise you. These lights are also good for "camp duties".

A good radio is also a must, to keep a eye on the news and weather. Currently, both NM. and AZ. have a State of Emergency in effect, due to the alleged criminal actvities on the Mexican border, such as illegal aliens, drug activities and the like. If you're in a old gully, creek, be aware of flash floods, due to rains miles up stream. These are also deadly.

Being armed is up to you, but it is recomended that you are armed, since some prospecting locations are extremely remote, thus the nearest police detachments may be miles from you.Martial Law 20:56, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
