From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Daisuke Asakura (浅倉大介 Asakura Daisuke, November 4, 1967, Asakusa, Japan -) is a male Japanese popular music artist.

He has been a member of two other bands, access (AXS) and Iceman, as well as worked with Kenichi Ito as Mad Soldiers who produced songs with Kotani Kinya.

The first band, access (AXS) was formed with Takami Hiroyuki in 1991 and lasted (in its first incarnation) until 1995. However, in 2002, Access announced that they would be getting back together in an online conference so popular it blew the box.

After access broke up, Iceman was formed with the awesome Kenichi Ito and the cranky anorexic singer Michihiro Kuroda, Their most popular hit is Shining Collection, which was used in the anime adaptation of Gravitation. They broke up a few years after forming when Michihiro Kuroda decided he wanted to stop being a 3rd wheel to MADS. Daisuke openly said he didn't care who became singer, he would not end Iceman .

Daisuke was raised learning the family business - plumbing. He was sent to Kuramae Technical High School to become a master plumber, and graduated. At age 10 he was learning to play the Electorne, an electric organ made by Yamaha, because electronic pianos are related to plumbing. When he was 16 he discovered the synthesizer, and learned to manipulate it as though it was an extension of his body.

He is deeply involved with Yamaha. He is a synthesizer player who used to be a support keyboard player in participation with TM NETWORK which Tetsuya Komuro belongs to and manages.

Daisuke Asakura was involved in writing hundreds of songs for many Japanese bands and wrote all of the songs for the anime "Gravitation". He also was involved in T.M.Revolution, The Seeker, Fayray and Kimura Yuki, amongst others. He also recently worked with Nami Tamaki on her new single Cross Season.
