Dai Atlas is the leader of the Autobots (Cybertrons in Japan) in the series Transformers: Zone, which was cancelled after one episode. Dai Atlas can transform into a jet mode, to land mode with a drill-honed tank and into a base to accommodate the Autobot Micromasters.

[edit] Transformers: Zone (1990)

Following on from Transformers: Victory, the mysterious three-faced insectoid being, Violenjiger dispatches the nine "Great Decepticon Generals" - Devastator, Menasor, Bruticus, Trypticon, Predaking, Abominus, King Poseidon, Overlord and BlackZarak - to acquire "Zone Energy," destroying the planet Feminia to obtain the world's store. Caught in the destruction of the planet, Victory Saber is rescued by Dai Atlas, who then repels an attack by the Decepticons, and is appointed the new Autobot commander at the conclusion of the episode.

[edit] Battlestars: Return of Convoy

Although "Zone" would prove to be the last Japanese-exclusive G1 series, Dai Atlas returned briefly in the Battlestars manga, which followed up Zone. Under attack by the forces of the mysterious Dark Nova, Atlas entrusted Sky Garry and his Battlestars with the task of resurrecting the greatest Autobot of all - Optimus Prime, even going so far as to appoint him as temporary Supreme Commander.

[edit] Dreamwave Productions

Dai Atlas would receive an unusual reference in issue 10 of Dreamwave Productions' Generation One series - their last before going out of business. In Megatron's flashback he describes discovering a cavern in a forbidden zone on Cybertron, which revealed that the history of the Transformers was far different than previously thought. One of the statues over the entrance seen is clearly Dai Atlas, with the other being Deathsaurus.
