Dagnis Vinogradovs

Dagnis Vinogradovs (born 2 June 1981) is an athlete from Latvia. He competes in flatwater canoeing.

His first success came at the 2000 European under-23 championships in Boulogne, France where he won the bronze medal in the Canadian canoe C-2 500m final with partner Dmitrijs Andrejevs. Two years later he took the individual (C-1) 1000m European under-23 silver medal in Zagreb, Croatia, despite the fact that some of his rivals were two years older. At the next European under-23 championships, held in Poznań in 2004, he was the C-1 1000m champion, winning the final by an impressive margin of 1.8 seconds ahead of Germany's Thomas Lück.

Vinogradovs was selected to represent Latvia at the competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in the men's 500 metre individual canoe and 1000 metre individual canoe.

In the 1000 m race, he placed fourth in his initial heat with a time of 3:57.070, advancing to the semifinal. There, he placed third with a time of 3:53.656 to qualify for the final. He took sixth place in the final with a time of 3:53.537.

Vinogradovs placed second in the initial heat of the 500 metre with a time of 1:50.776, again moving to the semifinals. In the semifinal, he finished fifth with a time of 1:52.511, not qualifying for the final.

"Vinoga" is 183cm (6'0") tall and weighs 83kg (183 lbs). He lives in Limbaži.
