Finally, the definitive pronunciation of "Obbop":

Ohhhhhh Bee Bop

A take-off of the groovy song writte in 1975 titled "OB Bop." A reference to the area of San Diego known as Ocean Beach (OB) and the bop, which rhymes with "hop" refers to the bop that decribes the bouncy way of walking that indicated the walker is cooler than the average mortal passing by.
