Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

John feels drawn to the Ancient, Jack, who accuses John of carelessly giving away his wormhole knowledge. They soon figure out that it's the wormhole knowledge that John traded to Furlow before he even met Ancient Jack. But John offers to help Ancient Jack to prevent Furlow from using the knowledge. Talyn, its passengers, and Ancient Jack make their way to Dam-Ba-Da to find Furlow. She's being tortured by Charrids, who work for Scarrans--she's been offering to sell what she has to the highest bidder, and it's the Scarrans, but they decide to take what they can from her. Aeryn and Rygel protect her place while John and Jack contrive to destroy Furlow's work. But a Scarran dreadnought in the system accesses Furlow's systems and downloads vital wormhole information, so Jack switches the plan to that of destroying the dreadnought. He tells John that he (John) has the information in his head on how to do that, and Jack will release it. John confesses he already knew about the information because of Scorpius and the Aurora Chair, and that he has a neural clone in his head. Jack tells John the two of them can rid him of the neural clone. Harvey fights back as John envisions the battle as a roller coaster ride. Eventually John wakes up--but the neural clone has completely taken over John's body. He claims that John is gone, and there's only Harvey now, but he tells Aeryn that she can still have sex with the body if she wants. Distraught, Aeryn pulls out her pulse pistol to kill John/Harvey.
