D M Mirasdar

D. M. Mirasdar is a very well-known Indian short-story writer in Marathi. He is popularly known as "Da Ma". Most of his stories are humorous. He is considered to be among the prominent contemporary Marathi writers. More than an author, he is an acclaimed katha kathan kar (a story teller). Mirasdar is also Acting President of the Maharashtra Sahitya Parishada, Pune.

Mirasdar is famous for his writing about the people in village, their life in village, humorous events that happen in their lives, and so on. But, along with that, he has written many serious and touching short-stories too like Gavat, Ranmanus, Kone eke kali, Bhavaki, Hubehub, Sparsh, etc., which are many times concerned with the social issues or lives of poor people. Also, the description of the atmosphere is feature of all his stories.
