D. Y. Chandrachud

Dr.Justice Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud is a sitting judge of the Bombay High Court. He is the son of Y.V.Chandrachud, India's longest serving Supreme Court Chief Justice.

Born on 11th November 1959, he graduated from St. Stephen's College, New Delhi in 1979. He got his LL.B from Delhi University in 1982 and an LL.M. from Harvard University in 1983. He also did his Doctorate of Juridicial Sciences (S.J.D.), from Harvard in 1986.

He started his career as an Advocate in the Delhi High Court. Appointed as Additional Solicitor General of India (1998-2000). Designated a Senior Advocate in 1998. Appointed as Additional Judge of the High Court at Bombay on 29th March 2000.(He was age 38 at the time - the youngest ever High Court Judge in India.)

He currently lives in Mumbai with his wife and two sons.
