Düzce earthquake

The Düzce earthquake 12 November 1999 was an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.2 [1] on the richter scale that caused damage and fatalities in Duzce, Turkey, approximately 100 km to the east of the epicentre of the magnitude 7.4[citation needed] earthquake which killed over 400 [2] people.
The ground movements from the earthquake had been detected by British Geological Survey seismometers around the world. The earthquake occurred on the North Anatolian Fault.
