CZ-99

CZ-99 is a pistol made by Zastava Arms Co from Kragujevac, Serbia and Montenegro.

Serbian police uses CZ-99 as a service pistol, and it is also being exported. The copies of the CZ-99 were manufactured in South Africa and Israel. There is also compact version: CZ-99G Compact.

Caliber of the pistol is 9mm PARA, but there is also .40SW version. CZ 99 is imported in the US during 1990. There is newer versions of this firearm: CZ999, with DAO and DA/SA selector and CZ999 Scorpion without this selector. This model is imported in the US as ZDA 9mm pistol. At this moment, Crvena Zastava is developing new modifications of original concept.

Unrelated to Checz CZ guns, Crvena Zastava (red flag in Serbian) is the former name of a car and firearms manufacturer in Kragujevac, Serbia. CZ is its abbreviation.
