Cynthia Torres, better known as Cynthia is an Hispanic-American Freestyle music, Dance-pop and dance music singer of Puerto Rican descent. She began her career at the age of sixteen singing in a group with future fellow freestyle artist Safire, who landed Cynthia an audition for a record producer. Two weeks later, she landed a contract for MicMac Records. In her first (eponymous) album, Cynthia hit it big in 1990 with the classic club hits "Change On Me", and "Endless Nights". She had a second successful album with "Cynthia II". Since signing with Tommy Boy Records in 1992, her career has met with somewhat less success. She resigned in the late 1990's with the label Robbins Ent. for the releaseof her third and most commerically successful album, Thinking About You. The album featured two Billboard Hot 100 hits, "Thinking About You" and the larger of the two singles, "If I Had The Chance" which made the Top 40 in 1999. The album also featured the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart hits, "How I Love Him", "Like A Star" and "I Never Said." Cynthia still tours regularly. No plans for her fourth album have been made as yet.

Cynthia is one half of the music duo, Liscyn along with another Freestyle/Dance-pop artist, Lisette Melendez. They released their debut single, "I Can't Change Your Mind" in 2004 on the legendary, Fever Records.
