Cyndy Garvey (nee Truhan) was born on July 16, 1949 in Detroit Michigan.

She married professional baseball player, Steve Garvey on October 27, 1971. After divorcing him in 1983, her name was removed from the library of a junior high school in California named after Mr. Garvey.
