[edit] History
In 1983 Jérôme Marsacand and Vincent Bouvet formed "Les Trois Pylônes" in 1986 to sell "ready-to-fly" models. In 1993 the company began importing and distributing Air Soft Guns®, imitation replica pistols for adults only. Also in 1993 an exclusive European license with Smith & Wesson was signed allowing Les Trois Pylônes to import and distribute model Smith & Wesson guns. Many other license agreements followed with companies including; Colt, IMI (UZI), Desert Eagle, and Kalishnakov. In 1999 Les Trois Pylônes simplified its name to become "3 P". Early 2000, 3P signed the first of many world exclusive licenses with a major gun manufacturer. In September 2001, 3P became Cybergun.[1]
[edit] Controversy
Cybergun went under boycott by some members of the Airsoft users community alleging an attempt by Cybergun to monopolize the Airsoft market and for turning out entry level, and affordable products. As well as aggressive attempts to shut down small airsoft makers by taking them to court for selling counterfeit air soft guns using gun brands names and trademarks without the permission and license to do so there by violating copyright laws.[2]
