Cyangugu

Cyangugu or Ciangugu was a province in southwestern Rwanda, lying at the southern end of Lake Kivu, east of Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Today, it is the name of a district in the Western Province and also the name of the town at the center of the district.
The settlement has two main areas: Cyangugu itself is the lakeside resort, while Kamembe lies further inland and is the industrial and transport centre. The town is also home to an airport and a prison and lies near Nyungwe Forest National Park.
The coordinates of the town of Cyangugu are 2.48S, 28.90E. Its population in 2002 was approximately 19,900.
