Cwm yr Eglwys
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cwm Yr Eglwys is a hamlet located at a picturesque cove on the North side of Dinas Head peninsula, between Fishguard and Newport, Pembrokeshire, in southwest Wales.
There is a small beach with safe bathing, a narrow slipway for launching small boats, access to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path which runs all round the peninsula, limited car parking (small charge applies at certain times), and a public toilet. There are also some holiday cottage lettings available.
The 12th Century church of Saint Brynach is a popular tourist attraction which was almost completely destroyed by the great storm of 1859. Only the belfry and west wall, and part of the graveyard, remain. By the gate is a model of the Royal Charter, a gold ship wrecked nearby during the same storm.
