Cuyuteco
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cuyuteca, also known as Cuyuteco, is a Nahua(Uto-Aztecan) tribe from southwestern Jalisco, Mexico(near present day Tecolotlan, Jalisco). Schollars say that the were a late arrival to Jalisco. Due to the time frame of their arrival in Jalisco(est. 12th century), as well as other details, it is believed that they descended from natives that were said to have left Aztlan in present day southern Utah and northern Arizona. They became extinct as a cultural group in the 16th century. Their descendants live on today.
