[edit] Marble Brewery

I can fix the refs if nobody else does. It'll be tomorrow (Sat) though. Regards, Mr Stephen 15:27, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

No problem. If you want to play (use a sandbox), have a look at the ref element, section 4 'how it works'. Then, if you like, move on to 'template:cite web' here, but that simply formats the reference in a certain manner. Regards, Mr Stephen 17:13, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
See how you like that. I've made one or two changes to avoid copyvio problems; feel free to improve the English. You had forgotten to add <references/>, so you didn't get the bibliography at the end. Regards, Mr Stephen 13:51, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
Happy to help. Regards, Mr Stephen 11:18, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Why thank you lady, for the helpful links. This is hella addictive. Oops. See what you've done!

[edit] Help

Regarding the page Trevor Lock, I have just removed an untrue and potentially damaging statement which was added by an unregistered user - is it possible to vandal proof the page, or does this have to be done by an admin? Is this an appropriate case for vandal blocking?

(I have attached a reference within the page to the only reported news article on the matter, and have been unable to find any other sources).

Edit-locking pages is something that we do rarely on Wikipedia, and I'm not sure this page would qualify. The best way to combat vandalism is to add the page to your watchlist to monitor the recent changes to it, and then revert any vandalism you see. You can use appropriate warning templates on the vandal's talk pages, and if particular users get out of line, you can request administrator intervention. I hope that's helpful! -- Merope 13:52, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
It is indeed! I've added the page to my watchlist to keep an eye out, and I'll bear the other points in mind. Thanks for the quick response :) Curiousbadger 14:05, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Whaling.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Whaling.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 11:12, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for letting me know, have now tagged the image as "book cover". Curiousbadger 22:24, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Brevity ... is wit.

A good edit at Alan Moore by you, I thought. A great writer but a rambling article. Fred.e 16:25, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Now I know about Stewart Lee. As indeed I should, if only because he writes about the Fall. His work sounds too good to ever be on Aus TV. Fred.e 11:24, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikiproject Narnia Newsletter March 2007

WikiProject Narnia Newsletter
Issue 1 - 2nd March 2007 . Written by User:Sp3000 (talkcontribs)
WikiProject Narnia News
  • The WikiProject has been a little quiet lately. There are still quite a lot of Narnia stubs. It has been nearly three months since we last worked on Minor characters in The Chronicles of Narnia, which still looks very much like a draft page. That would be a nice article to get into the main namespace.

Other news
  • WikiProject Narnia's first newsletter issue has been published. You're looking at it right now!
Member News
To-do
  1. Add characters and bios to minor character draft page.
  2. Expand Narnia stubs.
  3. Place links to the Narnia Portal on article pages by using {{portal|Narnia}}.
  4. Add the stub template {{Narnia-stub}} to articles in the category Category:Stub-Class Narnia articles so that there are the same number of articles in Category:Narnia stubs.
  5. Link the first mention of a year in all Narnia-related articles to Narnian timeline.
  6. Rewrite character articles to use the Narnian character example article format.
  7. Adopt an article and improve it to the best of your ability.
  8. Wikify The Chronicles of Narnia article, especially the new lead and Narnian Universe sections
From the founder

I am proud to present our first issue of the WikiProject Narnia Newsletter. I decided that we needed to alert everybody who had expressed interest in the project that there is much work to be done! Please check in every once in a while at the project talk page, and tell other project members what you've been up to in terms of Narnia articles.

Article of the Month: Edmund Pevensie
  • Edmund Pevensie is a major character in The Chronicles of Narnia. He appears as a principal character in three of the seven books. Edmund was the second to enter Narnia, although he tried to betray his siblings to the White Witch. However, Edmund managed to help save Narnia by neutralizing the White Witch's most powerful weapon, her wand.
Collaboration of the Month: Shasta (Narnia)
  • Shasta is currently quite short and not much of his background has been mentioned. The article also lacks images – but make sure if you upload one, you include a FU rationale. Contribute!
