Curt Young

Curt Young (born April 16, 1960 in Saginaw, Michigan), is a former professional baseball player who pitched in the Major Leagues from 1983-1993. He is currently the pitching coach for the Oakland Athletics.

  • Drafted by the Athletics in the fourth round of the 1981 draft.
  • Opening Night starter for the A's in 1987.
  • On April 27, 1987, Don Baylor collected his 2,000th ML hit off Curt Young.
  • Played in the 1988 and 1990 World Series as a member of the Athletics.
  • Never pitched a no-hitter, but did author a pair of one-hitters: October 5, 1986 vs. the Royals and June 9, 1987 against the White Sox.
