Curse of the Puppet Master is the sixth entry in the Puppet Master series of horror films. Released in 1998, it breaks from the previous films by not featuring Andre Toulon, although he is referenced. The film was rated R for horror violence/gore and language.

Robert "Tank" Winsley begins to work for Dr. Magrew by sculpting a puppet for the doctor to reanimate using the work of Andre Toulon. Soon, Tank begins to fall in love with Jane, Magrew's daughter.
Unbeknownst to Tank and Jane, Magrew is trying to create a "perfect race" of puppet humans, and unbeknownst to them all, the puppets take revenge on those who threaten Tank or Jane.
Jane discovers that her father's former assistant, Matt, has been turned into hideous, half-alive "puppet" as part of her father's scheme. She arrives just in time to see that her father, killed by the puppets, had succeeded in putting a living human, Tank, into the puppet he carved.

- The puppet which Tank is turned into is drastically different from the original plans. The puppet he carved was pure wood, yet the one he ends up as is a futuristic tank-robot with a TV screen for a face, similar to Decapitron from the earlier films. It was originally planned for a different movie, but ended up in this film instead.
- The existence of Leech Woman, and absence of Torch, suggest that this movie takes place before Puppet Master 1, or between Puppet Master 1 and 2. The Leech Woman puppet was destroyed in Puppet Master 2. Even though it was said that the 'trunk' containing the puppets were bought at auction, how they and the truck returned to the inn is unknown.
