Cumbum

Cumbum is a town in western Tamil Nadu state in southern India and it is a beautiful valley with plush green agricultural fields and Suruli Falls which are 10 km from Cumbum, surrounded by mountains. The nearest airport is Madurai which is 125 km by road. Cumbum comes under Theni District. Thekkady (Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary) which is a tourist spot in Kerala state, is 30 km from Cumbum, near Kumily (Idukki District) which is a border town between the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. by nanda

Most of the population in cumbum belong to following sub caste in Hinduism. Pillai, Koundar and thevar. With Pillai the largest population.
