Cullasaja falls is a 250 foot cascading waterfall located west of Highlands, North Carolina on the Cullasaja River in the Cullasaja River Gorge. It is viewable from U.S. 64 and there is a small pull-off area for parking. The waterfall is in the Nantahala National Forest and is part of the Mountain Waters Scenic Byway in Macon County, North Carolina. Cullasaja comes from a Cherokee word meaning "honey locust place."
