[edit] Funding

How and by who is this group funded?

Is it independent of Cuban control? --J.StuartClarke 02:27, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Trinidad and Tobago Cuba Solidarity is exactly what it says it is: a campaigning group in Trinidad and Tobago that supports the Cuban Revolution. It is made up of Trinbagonians who finance their own organisation. Unlike the US which finances all sorts of organisations to interfere with the internal affairs of Cuba, the Cuban Embassy in T&T and does tell its support organsations what to do any more than they do in any other country. Dave, there are Cuban solidarity groups all over the world. By rights, the title Cuban solidarity should not just refer to the organisation in T&T. What are you thoughts about expanding this article so it covers international groups?-- Zleitzen(talk) 03:46, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Yes, that had been in my mind and It was a quesion of finding the time. I do have a reasonable list of some of these organisations and could add it to my list of 'things to do' unless you want to make a start and I could add my information as we go along. Dave Smith 11:57, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Its not really something I have a lot of information on to be honest. I have come across groups at various meetings and so on and usually end up in arguments with them. But then I spend the other half of my time arguing with the anti-Cuban lobby - here and elsewhere - so I'm doomed from all sides!-- Zleitzen(talk) 01:50, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
OK, don't get too doomed. I've added this to my list of things to do. I'm involved in the Cuba Solidarity group here in T&T and so it sounds as if I am probably more in touch with this than you might be. I can't see this being done for a little while but once it's one my list it will get done eventually. When I do something I will let you know. Dave Smith 02:17, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
I was only asking, since it does seem to be rather apologetic about the whole human rights thing. If you are going to add to it, just watch the NPOV, since you are in it. Thanks. --J.StuartClarke 21:56, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
At the moment the article, if you can call it that, is really no more than an entry about an organisation. I'm sure when/if I can get round to doing a broader contribution the Wikipedea community will keep a eye on the NPOV issue - Dave Smith 23:43, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
