[edit] Cuahl's Talk Page

This page is intended for discussion pertaining to your Wikipedia contributions. As such, it should not redirect users elsewhere.

Similarly, your user page should not redirect to an article, because this is counterintuitive and potentially confusing. A manual link, however, is appropriate. Alternatively, you could simply redirect to this talk page. Gemberling 02:07, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Ok cheers --Cuahl 02:43, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] BC

I've already linked BC on the "Judgement Day" page to British Columbia. Don't worry about it. ~ Hibana

[edit] Stereophonics

An anonymous user spammed 10 different artist pages with the same line. Either make their reference to Live 8 specific, or remove it until further notice; we don't need any cookie-cutter writing on Wikipedia; it just shows a lack of professionalism altogether. --Madchester July 4, 2005 01:27 (UTC)

[edit] Final Fantasy uniformity

Heh. I don't think you're being OTT at all. In fact, I've kind of been mulling over the topic for a while myself. I have long been debating whether to kick-start a Wikiproject devoted to Final Fantasy-related articles, to gather together interested editors and formulate some sort of serious policy. I haven't really gone ahead and done anything because I felt that, until recently, there didn't seem to be enough editors contributing regularly to FF articles to make any of it seem worthwhile. But between you, and DarkEvil, and Hibana, and probably a few others I've forgotten, it seems like there may be enough people for it to be something more than an ego-boosting exercise on my part. And, I mean, if the Pokédex can have it's own WikiProject, there's no reason Final Fantasy can't ;-) IMO, this would provide a much needed place to discuss general policy concerns like you've mentioned (what names to use, what format pages on, say, characters, should take, etc.) and to set out a "to do" list and the like. Any thoughts on the idea? – Seancdaug July 6, 2005 01:42 (UTC)

  • Count me in on this. I've been helping out as much as i could with FF articals. I'll be glad to help out some more, especially if a project starts up. --ZeWrestler 6 July 2005 01:54 (UTC)

Well, I've cobbled the a project page together at Wikipedia:WikiProject Final Fantasy. Check it out when you get the chance. – Seancdaug July 6, 2005 03:57 (UTC)

[edit] Featured article drive

Hmm... for the most part, I think we should pick one article by consensus at the WikiProject talk page and work on that. Getting through FA approval can be a reasonably lengthy and involved process (I was involved in getting Nintendo Entertainment System featured), and I think it's very much a case of taking things slowly. In terms of what article to choose, I'd start with a fairly major article: one of the games (and preferably one of the more famous installments), or the main series article (which may be a bit more complicated). Getting an article voted to featured status means we'll need to overcome the objections of a fair number of editors who automatically vote down anything relating to CVGs as fancruft (see the situation with Goomba, an excellent featured article that still gets regularly put up for VfD...). Focusing on a game, rather than a less high profile article (like Cid (Final Fantasy)) would head off a lot more of these kind of complaints. – Seancdaug 15:52, July 12, 2005 (UTC)

Hi, i added u to the UK Wikipedians category. Hope this is ok with u! Agent003

[edit] RE: Edward Chris von Muir

Don't worry about it. I accidentally clicked Save Page instead of Show Preview when I had only enterred two sentences of text, so I decided to delete it all and save it before saving the final version. I was actually going to redirect it to the FF4 page too. And I'm joining the FF wiki project right now actually.  :-) --Warpedmirror 7 July 2005 01:45 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Ff8-cid.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:Ff8-cid.jpg. Its copyright status is unclear, so it may have to be deleted. Please leave a note on the image page about the source of the image. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags, for a list of copyright tags, that you can use. Thank you. If you created this image yourself, you can use the tag {{PD-user|Cuahl}}. <>Who?¿? 7 July 2005 02:47 (UTC)

[edit] Duplicate images

you realize that with some of your templates, you've been uploading duplicate images into the system. your squall image for instance is a perfect example of this. you actually loaded a lower quality image of what i had loaded originally in the artical. i think in this case, maybe we should rename the pics there already rather than creating extra images of the same shot. what do you think? also, i'm working on the irvine article for you. --ZeWrestler 7 July 2005 14:04 (UTC)

  • not a problem, i started the changes on irvine, but my boss just handed me some work, if you can finish it off, i'll look later for other images that may have been orphaned with the changes.--ZeWrestler 7 July 2005 14:13 (UTC)
  • i was trying to save you a little time and actually doing the info box, lol. i added the renamed the current irvine pic that was there. just remember to double check the articles before you mow. i can save some cleanup time in the future. --ZeWrestler 7 July 2005 14:20 (UTC)
  • sounds good. I filed the irvine one already for deletion since i originally uploaded it. i looked at your template when i originally discovered the duplication, and saw the reason why you could use only one file name. not a problem. if i get time later, i'll look into helping that...hmm. i have an idea i'll add to the final fantasy talk page, after thinking about this. --ZeWrestler 7 July 2005 14:31 (UTC)
  • I'll take care of the template for making FFVI character articles unifom. --ZeWrestler 7 July 2005 14:54 (UTC)

[edit] Everything ok

I remember you saying you live in the UK, is everything ok with you. The news is constantly repeating the attack you guys just suffered. --ZeWrestler 7 July 2005 14:31 (UTC)

  • Gosh, thank you. It's terrible, London is in a state. This is no doubt due to the G8 conference, and thankfully I haven't been affected. But I appriciate the concern, mate. If you're interested, Wikipedia has already put up an article on it -- 7 July 2005 London bombings. — Cuahl 7 July 2005 14:40 (UTC)
    • you welcome, glad to hear your alright. what worries me is my best friend is in london right now, and i can't contact her cause i'm at work. --ZeWrestler 7 July 2005 14:40 (UTC)
      • I know the feeling. I'm still yet to hear from a few who live in London. I hope all is well. I have the news on right now — Cuahl 7 July 2005 14:47 (UTC)

[edit] This makes me sick

I can't believe the crap in this article.

Just as long as you don't support Bush's actions either. Either side is killing and destroying. The world's gone to pot. — Cuahl 16:28, 20 July 2005 (UTC)
I may be american, but i am not stupid. i don't support Bush. --ZeWrestler Talk 16:30, 20 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Meyvn Nooj

Heh, well you moved the page to Mevyn Nooj, not Meyvn Nooj. It can't be moved like most pages, becasue a Meyvn Nooj page already exists (even though all it does is redirect to the other page), so we have to have like 5 people sign the talk board agreeing it should be moved. --Warpedmirror 7 July 2005 16:10 (UTC)

[edit] New character templates

I really like what you've done with my FF7 character template. I think the pages (esp. FF7 and FF9) look a million times better. The only thing is, on the FF9 characters...is it necessary to put their little quote on there, if right below it is a picture with that same quote? Still looks great though. --Warpedmirror 7 July 2005 16:21 (UTC)

[edit] Triple Triad

Great work with this article, dude! I'm impressed that it even exists, let alone that it's so thorough, detailed and well-written. Good work! 68.226.239.73

[edit] Getting started

Hello, im new and i was just wondering if you could tell me how i can vote on articles for deletion thanks so much.--Kit fisto 06:19, 13 July 2005 (UTC) Hey thanks for the help! Btw my friend loves ff7 you to probably have alot in comon, anyways thanks--Kit fisto 07:02, July 13, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Final Fantasy 6 wins

Without a surpise, Final Fantasy VI won the featured article drive. I posted some info here about what we can do, but i think i'll deffinetly need comments from you on this one to help get the task moving. I also created a CVG peer review for the article. --ZeWrestler 12:28, 19 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Heads up

I already told Seancdaug this, but i'll tell you too. I had a bike accident yesterday, and got a concussion. I can't concentrate long enough on articles at the moment to be useful to the FA drive for FFVI. I actually am having my bro type this message for me. I should be back in a few days, but try and see what you can do to improve the article. --ZeWrestler Talk 16:34, 20 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Vacation

I have been vacationing at Tarbutt Township, Ontario; and I will use Wikipedia on occasion at the town hall. I will be back at my Farmington Hills home c. Saturday June 23, 2005. By the way, I will cast a vote for GTAvl. --SuperDude 17:04, 19 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] FinalFantasyVII-Combat.jpg

On July 21, I uploaded this image. This was an attempt to give a better quality image than Image:FinalFantasyVII-Combat.png and keeping the same, should I say, meaning. I really think that's what I managed to do, but you replaced my picture by the old one. I tried to contact you on the discussion page of Final Fantasy VII, but you still haven't answered, maybe I am too hasty but I just though by asking you directly it would be faster. I would like to know what are the reasons? – DarkEvil 00:45, July 22, 2005 (UTC)

Wwwwolf replied to me on the talk page of Final Fantasy VII giving me the same reasons you would propably have gave me. I gave in to his request and made a screenshot representing even more what he wanted. Just wanted to say that so you don't need to reply anymore. – DarkEvil 16:01, July 22, 2005 (UTC)
Sorry for the confusion. As for my explanation it's on the FFVII talk page. I can't check my messages because I can't be around so much anymore. If it's not sorting out my farked up life as a student, it's the fact I only got home from work 9 hours after finishing my shift because the water system burst. Then I fell asleep. I always reply to messages/talk pages when I read them - I can't know any different any other way — Cuahl 17:17, 22 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Canada

You asked me where I was from, so here I say it. I'm from Montreal, Quebec (the province at the far east of Canada.) Most french Canadians are from Quebec, although some live in other provinces. The problem in Quebec, is that we don't completely talk french like in France, see Quebec French, and most Québécois don't speak english well enough to even make a minor edit on Wikipedia (as an example) too, although there are some french Quebeccers on this wiki. To come back to the Canada subject, if you ever intend to come here, don't forget that prices are generally higher for the same thing and that there are two taxes, if it wasn't for that, Canada is a very fine country. I'm sure the United Kingdom is very interesting too, and I deeply symphatise with the recent events happening in your country. – DarkEvil 02:21, July 25, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Kimahri Ronso art.jpg

Hi. I noticed that you have uploaded Image:Kimahri Ronso art.jpg. It's a really nice picture, but the problem is that I had uploaded the exact same image a few months ago under the title Image:Kimahri2.jpg, which has been deleted. Oh well. Good work on all the Final Fantasy articles, fellow FF fan! Jarlaxle 20:55, July 26, 2005 (UTC)

That's okay. But how did you get the image into the Kimahri article? I don't see a [[Image:Kimahri Ronso art.jpg]] in the edit page. Is it part of the template? Must be. Jarlaxle 21:16, July 26, 2005 (UTC)

I looked at each article that the template was on, and then I re-uploaded the images in different places to fix that problem. I just figured that the older uploads should be the ones to stay instead of the newer ones. Do the articles look fine to you? Jarlaxle 22:47, July 26, 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, sorry about that. I'm kind of a spontaneous editor. Jarlaxle 22:53, July 26, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Cquote1.png and Image:Cquote2.png

Hi, just wanted your help in the case of these two images. I went to the Peer review page of Final Fantasy VI and they are talking about the article and what's not right about it. First, jdb ❋ talked about images not featuring legit copyrights, but then, ZeWrestler said that he checked all of them to find that they all featured tags. I myself checked and found those two images, still having no tag (if you check, you'll see that I've uploaded smaller file size versions, but I myself don't know their copyright), so if you could just put the right tag, I'd be grateful and that part of the peer review could then be cleared. – DarkEvil 18:59, July 27, 2005 (UTC)

  • I didn't even notice either of those pictures. I guess i missed them. What would the copyright tags be on them Cuahl?--ZeWrestler Talk 20:06, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
    • Hard to notice, it's true, I first thought they were just normal quotes but bolded and colored using coding, but they were images. – DarkEvil 20:28, July 27, 2005 (UTC)
  • In response to your response on my talk page, when you upload a file you made yourself, you just need to put the {{PD}} tag to release this image in the public domain, or you can alternatively release it under the GNU Free Documentation License by putting {{GFDL}} in the upload file summary, both these tags meaning the file is free in summary. When you don't do this, the file will eventually get deleted one day. Don't delete it, just put the correct tag. – DarkEvil 20:44, July 27, 2005 (UTC)
    • Thanks, that took care of it, now I don't think there is any image left on the Final Fantasy VI page with no copyright. – DarkEvil 20:58, July 27, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] FA drive

A lot of work has been put in the article and Seancdaug removed a lot of fancruft, but the Peer review seems to be going a little less good than I first thought it would. jdb ❋ said that there is still work to do with the fancruft even after Seancdaug's attempt. We're currently waiting for an answer as to what part he considers written by fans. We will eventually arrive to the end of it one of these days. Next time there is a vote, maybe Final Fantasy VII will win, I think you like this one a lot, am I right? – DarkEvil 21:07, July 27, 2005 (UTC)

As for me, I'm useless in Final Fantasy III (the one on the NES, a lot of American and European gamers didn't play that one yet), Final Fantasy XI (didn't want to pay monthly fees to play that game) and a little bit useless in Final Fantasy V (I don't remember enough, didn't like it much). The second game I know the more about is Final Fantasy VII, but the Final Fantasy IV article seems promising so I may choose that one for the next vote, but I'm definitely looking forward to Final Fantasy VII becoming FA one day, in the meantime, you should update articles you know about like the work you did on Triple Triad while ago, awesome. – DarkEvil 00:13, July 28, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Intros

I am the relative newcomer. Sometimes, I forget to log in, but today I have. I am checking out topics that need edits or are in need of articles. In fact, I am known to lose three hours or more on Wikipedia. Thank you for the help and suggestions. User:Dave Porter

[edit] Sphere Grid

thanks for going over this article for me. --alfakim 13:46, 30 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Final Fantasy bestiary

Yeah, thanks for the comment on the Final Fantasy bestiary. Once again, I must say that part of it belongs to you, that is the origins of the name so congratulations to you too. If you ever need help on an article, just say it and I'll see if I can help. By the way, I was about to make a change to the Style guide page you made for the WikiProject Final Fantasy by adding that you put the article title in italics as well as bolding the first time you refer to it if it is something that should be italized such as a video game, but I'm not sure if this is the case, it doesn't seem clear to me. – DarkEvil 00:11, August 4, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Images

Yeah, I was aware that I had uploaded quite a bit, it sure has grown a bit since I've worked on the Final Fantasy bestiary, but a lot of it must be audio. Wikipedia does not seem to make the difference between images and audio. There still must be hundreds of images. – DarkEvil 03:39, August 4, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for the info regarding the FF project, I wasn't aware there was one, but I will get right to contributing to it. Derktar 03:49, August 5, 2005 (UTC).

[edit] the black mages album

i believe that I was following wikipolicy by moving the albums. "The" is not meant to supercede the subject of article titles. Would you mind if i changed them back? --jonasaurus 10:31, 7 August 2005 (UTC)

Also, for future reference, please check for "double redirects" after moving any page, as you left two of them on The Black Mages that I was forced to fix. Thanks. --jonasaurus 10:44, 7 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Final Fantasy

Yeah it can seem so as the one who pushed for this project, being User:Seancdaug, did not make a single edit for three days. But, sometimes, some people may have taken some 2-3 days of break. I tend to be optimistic. Also, Peaceman is on vacation and Chad S. Wrye did have a surgery as said on his blog, that may explain why some people are not here recently. Maybe we should try to find a way to recrute some people that would be nice. Just a small thing I wanted to add, no link with what I was talking about, but I'm currently taking screenshots to add to the List of Final Fantasy VII locations. – DarkEvil 18:29, August 7, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Final Fantasy VII Map.jpg

Thanks for caring about the new map. So, I think, based on your message on my talk page, that you're drawing one in a software such as photoshop yourself? If so, don't forget to release it in the public domain or under the GFDL or both. I think it will be o.k. if you overwrite over the old one (except if it is not a jpg), even if that makes wikipedia keep the old version on their servers or do you need to put the old one for deletion in such a case where fairuse wasn't right? – DarkEvil 14:50, August 9, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Improving Spira with images

All of the images on Spira are now Final Fantasy Media images. Thanks for the compliments! It is my goal to have Spira become a featured article some day.PiccoloNamek 08:06, August 10, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Big Brother UK series 6

Summary of recent edit: "I thought she was fired ages back?"

Do you have any source to this effect? According to mine, Makosi wasn't fired, but she quit her job before going into the house. Though the text on the page doesn't directly state that she was fired, maybe it can be better written.... -- Smjg 10:32, 11 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Er...

I came in hopes of finding information on every last character every to walk the screen during a Kingdom Hearts game. The least I could do is add info for Kingdom Hearts 1. --Wack'd About Wiki 14:41, 12 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Reverts

Hi, Cuahl. Please don't revert test edits at Wikipedia:Introduction. The fact that we are open to test edits on a high-profile page shows the friendly, welcoming nature of the community. The introduction may be vandalized occasionally, but good faith edits are far more frequent, like these: [1] [2] So please let the newcomers try out their edits, and revert only when offensive content is added. Thanks, Sango123 15:58, August 12, 2005 (UTC)

There was nothing wrong about what you did; just keep in mind that the Introduction does need some cleanup every now and then. ;) Regards, Sango123 01:48, August 14, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Cool!

Can you tell me how to put my contents section like you've got it on your talk page? --Wack'd About Wiki 21:42, 12 August 2005 (UTC)

M-hm. I just hit the edit button and saw the template. Man, I know so much more about formatting than when I first got here, but it took awile. They should have an artical about that! --Wack'd About Wiki 02:08, 13 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] finishing touches on Final Fantasy VI

Hey,

FFVI is finishing up its peer review. But help on the article has appear to start dropping a little bit. I've seen you do great work with other articles in the FF project. Do you think you could go to the FFVI peer review and see if there are any changes/improvements you can make to the article? It would be to get your help on it. --ZeWrestler Talk 17:27, 22 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Final Fantasy VII Map.jpg Replacement

I realise that you aren't even back from holiday yet, but I thought I'd post a quick reminder before I go on holiday too. (Just in case we both forget. ;) No pressure. In fact, if you don't mind, I'd like to have a shot at finishing it when I return.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday. --JiFish(Talk/Contrib) 21:57, August 23, 2005 (UTC)

Hey, look, I'm really sorry but I won't have the time to finish this. It quite time consuming for what seems like a little job, and I'm back to being a full-time student again now so my time's limited. Sorry JiFish — CuaHL 21:55, 25 August 2005 (UTC)
