Chris Tozer began practising Aikido in 1983. From 1983 - 1991 he practised with many of the Japanese teachers sent abroad to teach Aikido.

In 1991 he met and began to study under his teacher, Takeji Tomita Sensei. He is 4th Dan, Takemusu Aiki, and is registered with both the Aikikai Honbu Dojo in Tokyo and the IAF, International Aikido Federation.

He has studied as a private student of Tomita Sensei for 14 years and has acted as his interpreter and assistant at numerous seminars both at home and abroad. In 1995 he was nominated as the Sole Authorised Representative in Great Britain for the Takemusu Aiki Tomita Academy.

He has been working since 1992 to further the spread and understanding of the concept of Takemusu Aiki and Japanese Budo to interested practitioners throughout the UK. He has trained several students to black belt level and continues to study daily in order to develop a more efficient training method for his students.

His Dojo is the only Dojo in the UK where it is possible to practice the training method of Takeji Tomita Sensei.
