ISO 3166-2:CS

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ISO 3166-2:CS is an ISO standard which defines geocodes: it was the subset of ISO 3166-2 which applied to Serbia and Montenegro (formerly Yugoslavia coded YU).

Note—Czechoslovakia
Until January 1, 1993, the ISO 3166 country code CS was designated to Czechoslovakia. From 1993 onwards, this state was split into Czech Republic (coded CZ) and Slovakia (coded SK).
Note— Independence of Montenegro
Serbia and Montenegro dissolved their union in June 2006. Since the code CS was reserved for the union, on September 26, 2006, ISO issued 2 codes representing Serbia (coded RS) and Montenegro (coded ME).
