Canada geo-stub
Just keep watching the User:Grutness/Ongoing geo-stub splits page :). I'll fill them up when the new templates are made (both for the Canada splits and also for the other three countries I listed a few days back). Grutness...wha? 01:34, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry about that! Someone else started re-stubbing, and I finished the job. It's rare for Canada-related geography work to slip past me. (Take a look at my contributions from May to November 2005.) Mindmatrix 17:11, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
hello
I'm new on Wikipedia. I found your page by clicking through different links and am just hello, and trying to meet people. Theyshallsee God 02:47, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
Removing Prods
I disagree that I shouldn't remove prods if I wouldn't vote to keep. I like to remove them when I envision that there might be a debate with at least some people on the keep side. The reason I do this is that I feel that not enough people watch for prods in general, so I have to consider the potential opinions of other people. I may be wrong sometimes, but my instincts aren't way off in general. I also like to deprod when I feel more careful analysis is needed, which is more applicable in this case. States holding copyrights
In the past, I had a similiar misunderstanding. See Wikipedia:Copyright "Also, most state and local governments in the United States do not place their work into the public domain and do in fact own the copyright to their work'". Works by employees of the U.S. federal government are a unique case (by being in the public domain, by default), and virtually all other government work (American and non-American) is copyrighted by default. --Rob 04:48, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

How am I suppose to react. I am sick to death of outrageously arrogant and ignorant young americans sticking their nose into which they no nothing (ie history and specifically Australian history). I will continue to treat such people as the way they treat me. And how come such morons can demand of me to prove notability but I am unable to do the same? I still havent been been provided with ANY evidence that the americam declaration of independence is notable? Why is that? The stench of hypocrisy is overwhelming. And furthermore Yanksox is stalking me. The little creep.Lentisco 02:14, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
Where did you find all those articles?
I am envious of you for finding so many articles needing attention. I am working stub-sorting duty tonight, and the vast majority of the articles in Cat:stubs now are yours. How did you manage finding so many? Thanks for sharing. - CrazyRussian talk/contribs/email 05:26, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
- Special:Uncategorizedpages and Special:Newpages. Be careful because you'll find so many, it will completely demoralize you and affect your view of Wikipedia - if you're like me anyway. I'm guessing only about 10-20% of new pages are written by experienced authors - the rest are stubby, unsourced, uncategorized, unwikified, or are simple vanispamcruftisements in need of deletion. I don't have time to put them all in proper categories which is why I just {{uncat}} and {{spam}} until I get sick of it and move on to something else. —Wknight94 (talk) 11:55, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Elizabeth Hess
I realize that sourcing and citing is extermely important on Wikipedia these days, but why in God's name did you demand citations or sources on the Elizabeth Hess stub? There's nothing questionable there that anyone in their right mind would find in need of citation! Please explain. Pacian 16:27, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi Craze, and thank you for your supportive comments (mimicking my sig was CLASSIC!) in my request for adminship! With a final tally of (109/5/1), I have been entrusted with adminship. It's been several weeks since the conclusion of the process, so hopefully you've had a chance to see me in action. Please let me know what you think! Thanks again, and I will do everything I can to justify the trust you've placed in me! ++Lar: t/c 03:25, 28 May 2006 (UTC) |

re: Fitzgerald Hotel
Thanks. I see most of the edits mentioned are either from the same anon who originally created the article, or else are minor formatting or categorization edits. Anyway, the AfD is reasonable. I'm going to be away when the Afd ends and won't be back til a few weeks later, but will check when I get back. Regards, Phr (talk) 04:18, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
You've been truffled by Charlie
Charlie has given you some of his famous Solid chocolate truffles! Chocolate truffles taste good, help moods, promote WikiLove and hopefully make your day better. Hope you find the truffles to be tasty, and make sure you enjoy them with a nice tall glass of milk (they're rich)! I think I just lucky this time! New "Israeli apartheid" article
Hi Crz: Vigorous editing and debate is taking place at Israeli apartheid (phrase). Please take a look at it and add your comments. Thanks a lot. IZAK 20:11, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
- Dropping you a note to say that I haven't forgotten about our prospective collaboration on the Norfolk Island article, on which we'll do some work sometime soon (I've been spending too much time of late on Portal:Basketball, Portal:American football, Portal:Chess, and Portal:Baseball, each of which is now in good shape), or about adminship for you (I started a nom some time ago but never added to it and will do so straightaway). I'm under this header, though, because I supported (qualifiedly) keeping the article, but I thought your delete made a strong case; I think the frequency with which the phrase is used is dispositive, but if citations can't be found toward its currency, I'll support delete. At least I'm consistent, having also supported keeping Religion of Peace; perhaps I will succeed in bringing Jews and Muslims together...in hating me. :) Joe 00:30, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
- With all due respect, I think you commented too early that "it's pretty clear by now that there will not be consensus for deletion.". Why not let run its course? IMHO, this is a clear case of WP:POVFORK. ←Humus sapiens ну? 03:17, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
Cotton Gin
I have in my history book Cotton gin 1793 Invention rather than 92. It has no further information on the invention, but just letting you know what other books define the birthdate of it as. I would think the first built prototype would be known as the actual date, even with refinement.
Hey
The FX star wars kid is quite funny. I'm sorry if I sounded abrazive, it's just a wicked messy situation.

Inanity as grounds for deletion (cf. Toyz (Petz))
Re the word inanity, in this context it has little meaning other than to express the editor's dislike for the subject or article in question. As for Toyz (Petz), it provides useful information about the computer game Petz, and I see no reason to remove this information from Wikipedia. However, if you feel the article is insufficiently substantial to stand alone, the content could be merged into Petz. Spacepotato 01:44, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
Blnguyen's RfA
Hello Alexander. Thank you for your rolling wheely support at request for adminship which ended at the overwhelming and flattering result of (160/1/0), and leaves me in a position of having to live up to a high standard of community expectation. If you need any admin assistance, feel free to ask me, and naturally, if I make any procedural mistakes, feel free to point them out and I look forward to working with you in the future, Blnguyen | Have your say!!! 07:14, 30 May 2006 (UTC) |

Minor league athletes
I looked at WP:BIO, and it says to generally include "Sportspeople/athletes who have played in a fully professional league" (no distinction for minor/major league). On the other hand, I see your point about whether these players are well-known. I'd suggest you AFD one of them and see what the consensus is. NawlinWiki 12:22, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

TfD
[This is the stock note I sent to everyone who contributed; I'll reply to your talk page message in a bit. :) ] Since you participated in the Templates for deletion discussion for Template:Legal disclaimer, I think I ought to let you know that in my hasty cutting-and-pasting, I inadvertently removed part of my nomination, such that it didn’t fully enumerate the reasons for deletion and was syntactically troublesome in any event. The nomination, which read the template is used only twice (once in mainspace), its existence but absence from nearly every page to which it could be appended surely invites one salient objection from NDT, viz., that "The lack of the disclaimer on a page might open Wikipedia to lawsuits" , ought to have begun with This template is self-referential and in any event in contravention of Wikipedia:No disclaimer templates; inasmuch as. I know that your reasoning will not likely be affected by my repairing my malformed nom, and I don’t write to solicit a change in your views (indeed, I wrote also to those who, notwithstanding my errors, supported deletion); I simply didn’t feel comfortable revising the nom without alerting those who had participated in the discussion. My apologies for my omission… Cordially, Joe 17:05, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
redirect
You redirected [[Help the needy]] to [[Rahil Dhafur]] without taking the step of discussing it first.
If you had opened a discussion first I would have argued against this step.
Did you consider that it might be useful to check the "what links here" button before you took this step? I created the "help the needy" article when I created the article charities accused of ties to terrorism. It doesn't make sense for an item in the table that is central to that article to link to an article about an individual, even if they were the founder of a charity. -- Geo Swan 20:07, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Sticks db
Hello, thanks for the message. Wikipedia is great, and I've been enjoying adding articles. However, I have to admit that I recently added 2 stubs before understanding the rules about notoriety. They are martial arts bio stubs, "Ernest Laberge" and "David Belanger" - These can be deleted, I'll be more careful next time. Thanks! Sticks db 13:30, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Ok, I give up. I added a page for "Bakbakan International", but some people list it simply as "Bakbakan". Is there a tagline, header or something I can plop on the page so it shows up with either search or link name? I've been trying to find something about this on the instruction pages but so far no luck. Appreciate your help! Sticks db 19:33, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

You're right. However I couldn't bring myself to write plain "Scheinberg" in the article, and hoped that "Rabbi" would sound less provincial and escape erasure. Anyway, thanks for the note. By the way, lkwd. Shykee 23:46, 31 May 2006 (UTC)shykee
- Actually I don't have any kids in school here and only wrote "lkwd" to avoid those on Wikipedia who would discount my edits as being the viewpoint of the extreme right wing.
