Talk:Crystal Palace railway station

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

where does the rumour about a hidden carriage come from?

I think it confused with a long standing story about an abandoned "atmospeheric"/pneumatic railway in the Crystal Palace grounds.

The story of the entombed commuter train definitely refers to the tunnel between the High Level station and Upper Sydenham station. Virtually anyone who has been to school in Penge or Sydenham in the last 30 years will have heard the story. Bebofpenge 02:50, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

I grew up in Sydenham and never heard it... :S Bensonby 21:06, 21 January 2007 (UTC) (the first unsigned comment was made by me also)

[edit] Crystal Palace High Level

See the discussion at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:West_End_and_Crystal_Palace_Railway The consensus is that the West End of London and Crystal Palace Railway built the Low Level station, whereas the High Level station was built for the Crystal Palace and South London Junction Railway --Lang rabbie 20:50, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
