I'm just being curious about one thing that I couldn't find anywhere on the Crypt's website, how is it supposed to only be opened in 8113? Because it seems that the purpose is written somewhere, but, it seems that basically nothing prevents it from being opened anytime before, right?

Technically, you're correct. *Any* time capsule could be opened at any time before the date the capsule's creators have specified. But the reason the Crypt's creators selected 8113 as the opening date for the Crypt was because they figured that if the Crypt was created at 4000-some years after the beginning of historical fixed date recording ---- and what the Crypt represents is everything that has been achieved up to that point -- then why not have the Crypt be opened 4000 years later? That would place the Crypt chronologically at the half-way point on the gigantic master timeline. This point is addressed on both the Crypt's official site as well as here in the Wiki article.OUPetey 16:58, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
