Crystal Plamondon

Crystal Plamondon, often known as "Canada's Cajun Queen", is a franco-Albertan singer, songwriter, and percussionist. She was born in Plamondon, Alberta, a village founded by her great grandfather in 1908. She has earned a number of awards, including the Molson Canadian ARIA (Alberta Recording Industry Association) Performer of the Year Award, and the YWCA Tribute to Women Award for Arts & Culture.
Noted primarily for her cajun/zydeco stylings, her music also extends into country, folk, and pop. She names Daniel Lanois, Dolly Parton, Sting, and Emmylou Harris as among her influences. She performs in English, French, and Cree.
