"Cry" is a popular song.

It was written by Churchill Kohlman. The song was published in 1951.

The biggest hit version was recorded in New York City by Johnnie Ray and The Four Lads on October 16, 1951. The recording was released by Okeh Records as catalog number 6840. It was a #1 hit on the Billboard magazine chart that year, and one side of one of the biggest two-sided hits, as the flip side, "The Little White Cloud that Cried," reached #2 on the Billboard chart.

The song was also covered by Eileen Barton in a version recorded for Coral Records, catalog number 60592. This version reached the top 10 on Billboard as well.

Ray Charles later covered the song for his 1966 album Crying Time.

Lynn Anderson had success in country music markets with her version, released in 1972.
